Introduction, for MacDonald edition of Dombey & Son, 1964.

The collection consists of a manuscript copy of an introduction by Leavis to Dickens' Dombey and Son, first published in The Sewanee Review in 1962 but prepared for a MacDonald edition of Dickens; the manuscript is dated 1964 on the last page. Leavis notes that the essay is scheduled for inclusion in his projected next book. Written on the verso of student papers, mostly partial, covering a variety of topics.
